Merriam Community Center
City of Merriam | Merriam, KS
Overview
MIKA Project Partners served as the day-to-day Owner’s Representative and primary point of contact for the City of Merriam during the construction of their new $36.6 million, 66,000 SF aquatic and community center. Positioned just east of City Hall and the police department—across Ikea Way—the new facility was envisioned as a vibrant and inclusive hub for residents of all ages.
From project inception through completion, MIKA acted as a dedicated advocate for the City. Our role began with leading the solicitation and selection process for the design and construction team, ensuring the City partnered with firms best aligned with its goals. We also supported public engagement efforts helping build community understanding and support.
The facility features a wide range of amenities, including indoor and outdoor aquatic elements, a full-sized gymnasium, indoor walking and running track, a child-watch area, and a 200-stall parking garage.
