Overview

MIKA Project Partners is part of a collaborative team who is serving as Owner’s Representative for the comprehensive redevelopment of Barney Allis Plaza, a central public space in downtown Kansas City. The project is focused on revitalizing the plaza to enhance pedestrian experience, improve connectivity, and create a vibrant, flexible environment for community gatherings and events.

The redevelopment will include upgraded hardscape and landscape elements, improved seating and gathering areas, enhanced lighting and wayfinding, and integration of modern amenities to support both everyday use and special programming.

The result will be a refreshed and inviting urban plaza that strengthens downtown Kansas City’s public realm, supports community activity, and reinforces the city’s commitment to vibrant, accessible civic spaces.
